Frequent Jamming

I purchased this machine because I occasionally print A3, photographs. The remaining time, I use it as a regular A4 printer to produce day to day documents (A4 plain paper, from the cassette). Since purchasing the printer, I have had problems with jamming when the rear feed is being used. The paper qenerally moves part way into the printer and then stops, with a message saying that there is paper jammed inside the machine. I follow the instructions, take the back off and there is no paper jammed in the machine, other than the sheet I am trying to print on and it comes out easily and has a shiny patch in the middle where the roller has been unsuccessfully trying to feed the paper. I have wasted so much photo paper, for so little result. It doesn't seem to do it as much if I am using A3, but it is almost impossible to prini on smaller sizes (A4, 5x7, 6x4). Sadly, I am getting close to cutting my losses and lookining for another brand of A3 Photo Printer to ease my frustration.
